This guide is for non-tech-savvy users who want to install Tails OS (a privacy-focused operating system) on a USB drive using BalenaEtcher. Which is the simplest way in my opinion.

Here's What You Need
>A USB flash drive (8GB minimum, all data will be erased!).
>A computer (Windows, macOS, or Linux).
>BalenaEtcher (free & easy-to-use tool).
>Tails OS .img file (download from tails.net).

Step 1: Download Tails OS
--Go to -> https://tails.net/download
--Click "Download Tails" (it will download a .img file).
--Verify the download (optional but recommended for security).
--Follow Tails' verification guide (optional).

Step 2: Download & Install BalenaEtcher
--Go to -> https://www.balena.io/etcher/
--Download the version for your Windows/macOS/Linux system.
--Install it (just double-click the downloaded file and follow prompts).

Step 3: Write Tails to USB with BalenaEtcher
--Insert your USB drive (backup important files first—this will erase everything!).
--Open BalenaEtcher.
--Select > "Flash from file" > Select the Tails .img file you downloaded.
--Click > "Select target" > Choose your USB drive (double-check to avoid wiping the wrong drive!).
--Click > "Flash!" > Wait for it to finish (~5-15 mins).
--When done, safely eject the USB.

Step 4: Boot from the Tails USB
--Shut down your computer.
--Insert the Tails USB.
--Turn on the PC and press the Boot Menu key (usually F12, Esc, F2, or Del—check your PC’s manual).
--Select the USB drive from the boot menu.
--Tails will start—follow the on-screen instructions.

Congratulations you have now improved your OPSEC drastically and fully installed TailsOS a privacy focused amnesic operating system. Meaning nothing is ever stored on the computer, after shutdown everything will be gone. On each start up the system will start off fully fresh.
